A CHILD ONCE MORE
When we get grown, through this life we scurry
Our hearts and souls constantly burdened by strife
Never enough time, it seems we’re always in a hurry
As we struggle to maintain a foothold in this life.
A family to care for and loads of bills to pay
Rushing and rushing, we all try our best
To cram all we can into each too short day
Only to find that we often fail that test.
But as we through our busy lives have hurled
We have often failed to stop and look around
At all the wonderful things that are in this world
And at all the beauty that can still be found.
In rushing so madly, it must be all too sadly confessed
The eyes of our hearts and souls have become blind
To the beauty of the things with which we are blessed
Things that could ease and comfort heart, soul and mind.
Let’s all put away our grownup worry, stress and care,
We need to set our souls and imagination free,
A child’s trust and non-judgmental view to share
We all need to through a child’s innocent eyes see.
