A CHILD ONCE MORE

When we get grown, through this life we scurry
Our hearts and souls constantly burdened by strife
Never enough time, it seems we’re always in a hurry
As we struggle to maintain a foothold in this life.

A family to care for and loads of bills to pay
Rushing and rushing, we all try our best
To cram all we can into each too short day
Only to find that we often fail that test.

But as we through our busy lives have hurled
We have often failed to stop and look around
At all the wonderful things that are in this world
And at all the beauty that can still be found.

In rushing so madly, it must be all too sadly confessed
The eyes of our hearts and souls have become blind
To the beauty of the things with which we are blessed
Things that could ease and comfort heart, soul and mind.

Let’s all put away our grownup worry, stress and care,
We need to set our souls and imagination free,
A child’s trust and non-judgmental view to share
We all need to through a child’s innocent eyes see.

Wow, does this ring true for me right now! Rushing to get caught up…story of my life. Hope all is well, Sweetie.

    • hello, sweet lady, thank you for taking time from your own hectic life to share a piece of mine. and yes, i am well, or rather i am more well than i was the day i stripped this blog. i am still fighting depression, but am also coming to terms with the event that acted as a catalyst for the depression to begin with.

i am at a temporary standstill on “the ihmaeeran chronicles”, though i do have good news to share where it is concerned…i finished the fifth section recently and in fact it is posted as a sort of “teaser” [ http://1wordywoman.wordpress.com/2011/07/05/a-taste-of-the-ihmaeeran-chronicles-my-newest-book/ ].

i have also started on a rewrite of one that originated right here on wordpress…”the awakening”. i had sent it to one of my writer contacts outside of the site and they did an overview and critique on it and told me that with some cleaning up and fleshing out, that it might have a chance of being accepted by one of the paying horror magazines.

if you would still be interested in reading the one i sent you before, let me know and i will resend it.

you still have my contact info, i hope.

hugs and loads of love coming your way,

      marantha
